William Pene du Bois winner of the Newbery Medal for the Twenty one Balloons recounts the fabulous adventures of three stawlwart characters in an exploding world. It is Adelaide, the famous Kangaroo boxing champ, who takes the great leap into the Forbidden Forest. And just how the three characters manage to stop the terrible war is perhaps no more strange than how it got started.
