Decorated endpapers. 15 colour plates including frontispiece. 170 pages. Fair dustwrapper which has edge tears and chips the worst being at the spine ends where the word" Edmund" is missing at the head of the spine and the word "Stoughton" at the foot. The dustwrapper has been backed onto stiff paper for reinforcement and is protected in a removable cover. Internally the book is a lovely clean copy. Quite scarce in dustwrapper. Countess Haig was, at that date, the widow of Field Marshall Earl Haig who led the British troops in the First World War. A lovely clean copy internally. 256 pages. 12 lovely full-page tissue-guarded colour plates by Arthur Rackham. Decorated end-papers. An interesting copy of the first Rackham illustrated edition.
