Hardback. A fair copy in dark blue blind-stamped cloth lettered and decorated in gilt on spine. Tears at top of spine at joins with upper and lower board. Front hinges cracked. Ownership inscription on front end-paper. Newspaper cutting pasted to rear end-paper. Pp.xix,426. 3 maps. Lacking frontispiece? The author's ascent of the Wetterhorn ushered in the "golden age" of mountaineering.
